We packed our bags, as well as our Cavalier, and headed west to Denver. After checking into the dog-friendly Curtis Hotel, we began our Rocky Mountain adventure. Parker posed for a snapshot, which they posted on their K-9 Club welcome board. Meeting up with family and friends, with Parker in tow, we toured the vibrant downtown Denver scape, the red rocks of the Garden of the Gods, the cobble-stone streets of Vail and the scenic town of Boulder. On a scale from one to 10, we give Denver and the surrounding area a rating of 10. We loved the health-conscious, outdoor-focused, dog-inviting city/state. If you want to travel with your pet, I wholeheartedly recommend The Centennial State.

On Easter Sunday, my husband’s mom suffered a stroke. After a week at the hospital she moved to a rehabilitation center, where she is receiving physical, speech and occupational therapy. Since we are frequent visitors, I asked if we could bring Parker. Now, he spends his weekends getting attention from staff and resident dog- and cat-people. But, he’s always willing to give Bob’s mom his brand of Cavalier nap therapy. In just a few weeks, she has already made progress. Is it due, in part, to Parker’s therapy? I bet he’d like to think so.
