Not Ready for Primetime

November 24, 2012

The best laid plans of mice, men and dogs. I tried to pose Parker in front of the Hilton Bayfront sign. I wanted to post the photo on the Hilton Facebook page as a way to say thanks to the pet-friendly, guest-welcoming hotel management and staff. But, it didn’t turn out as I would have liked. While it’s not ready for prime-time, it had to find its way onto his blog. Take one: “Parker sit,” my husband says pointing his finger. Take two: “Stay Parker,” my husband says as Parker looks at us with inquiry as well as a little trepidation. Take three: Parker dashes away, as if to say, “I’m so out of here.” If you are planning a trip to San Diego and want to stay at an amazing, pet-friendly destination, check out this hotel. We will be back!

Adopting Another Dog

November 18, 2011

It looks like we’ve adopted another dog. Or, should I say Parker did. Typically, our Cavalier chews his furry toys right through to the stuffing in 30 minutes or less. But, this $3 PetSmart toy has held up for one full day with squeaker, ears and tail fully intact. Parker travels around the house with him like a long-lost friend. So, I’m going to consider him part of our family – for now.

Parker may have British roots. However, when it comes to baseball, he’s all Texan. Go Rangers! Thanks Paws Fur Treats for the bandana.

Parker’s Precise Pitch

July 13, 2011

Parker’s first solicited, non-paid acting gig for his favorite dog food, Precise Holistic. The company’s smart marketing people saw a blog I posted earlier in the year and asked if Parker would act in a YouTube video. As you can see, he was totally up for the task.

Baby Shampoo for Dogs?

March 19, 2011

We did pay lots of money for pup-specific shampoo. Last month, while at the vet’s office talking about Parker’s allergies, she said, “Try using baby shampoo.” Huh, Johnson’s Baby Shampoo? This inexpensive, non-tear, dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic gift leaves his coat shiny, manageable – not to mention he smells like a dream. Given this new product choice, does he like bathtime more? Not so much.
